Enlightening the Mind

Ah, the Age of Enlightenment in 19th Century American Literature, also known as New England Transcendentalism. This blog is dedicated to that group, founded by Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Emerson abhorred "the foolish consistency of a hobgoblin of little minds," and maintained there was One Universal Mind. However, he was a Unitarian minister, so he could not stretch his own mind beyond Christian concepts, especially that of a Biblically based God.

That was perfectly acceptable in the 19th Century, but it is not enough for the seekers in the 21st.The purpose of this blog is to move the concept of Universal Mind forward. Please notice, I did not write, "A" or "One". The reason I did not will be explained in subsequent posts.
